Overview
APSCO, a leading energy solutions provider, wanted to turn its employees into active brand ambassadors while streamlining lead generation and reward management across the organization. Partnering with Blink22, APSCO envisioned a connected digital ecosystem that incentivized employees and gave administrators better operational visibility.
The result was APSCO Ambassador and APSCO Connect, two interconnected platforms built to raise employee engagement, sharpen performance tracking, and introduce a first-of-its-kind discount and referral program that rewarded participation and strengthened brand loyalty. Together they work as a staff engagement app paired with a full coupon management system on the backend.

Initial Requirements
APSCO wanted to digitize its internal ambassador program so employees could submit business leads, track their incentives, and access exclusive discounts at partner service stations more easily. Before this, APSCO relied heavily on manual processes, which limited scalability and made it hard to evaluate the success of employee-driven initiatives.
To fix that, Blink22 partnered with APSCO to build a comprehensive incentive compensation management software system connecting employees, administrators, and partner brands under one digital experience.
Challenge
APSCO's vision to digitize its ambassador and discount programs brought a handful of architectural and operational hurdles. The platform needed to connect employees, administrators, and partner networks in real time, without compromising security or reliability.
Key challenges included:
Multi-system synchronization:
The solution had to bridge two interconnected platforms, APSCO Ambassador (mobile app and web portal) and APSCO Connect (web portal and mobile web), keeping user data, points, and discount activity perfectly in sync across systems.Secure employee authentication:
A multi-layered verification system with Employee ID validation, OTP-based login (via Taqniyat API), and session security needed to be implemented to prevent duplicate accounts and unauthorized access.Offline-influenced transactions:
Since some redemptions happened outside the app, the backend had to maintain accurate, tamper-proof point balances with transparent audit logs for every action.Cross-partner integration:
The platform needed to work seamlessly with Mobil Service Stations, using QR-based validation and OTP confirmation, all within a lightweight, browser-friendly flow.Data Integrity & Error Handling:
Designing the QR verification logic required clear handling of edge cases (expired codes, multiple OTP requests, and failed verifications).
Approach
Our approach combined design thinking, modular architecture, and agile delivery, ensuring a seamless experience for both employees and administrators.
Unified System Architecture
We built a modular service-oriented architecture connecting APSCO Ambassador and APSCO Connect via a centralized API layer.Data Flow & Security
Every user action, from lead submission to discount redemption, was logged and validated in real time.
Employee profiles, referrals, and point logs were linked through relational schemas to maintain relational integrity.
Role-based access control (ACL) enforced strict permission boundaries across admins, reviewers, and ambassadors. Each API endpoint included middleware for verifying roles, ensuring minimal privilege exposure.
A reporting and analytics module aggregated data from multiple ambassadors, exposing insights through dashboards and charts (using Chart.js / Recharts)
Integration & Validation Layer
OTP generation, verification, and QR encryption were designed to eliminate misuse. Each request generated a unique session ID and encrypted tokens, ensuring security without sacrificing speed.Testing & Quality Assurance
We implemented continuous testing throughout development. Unit and integration tests were automated for backend services, while UI and functional tests verified consistency across Android, iOS, and web. Security audits validated data protection, and cross-device QA ensured seamless performance in real-world conditions.
Solution
Blink22 delivered an interconnected, scalable ecosystem that combined employee engagement, reward management, and partner collaboration under one digital umbrella.
APSCO Ambassador App
A secure mobile app that empowers employees to act as brand ambassadors and track rewards in real time.
QR Code System: Dynamic, encrypted QR codes tied to user IDs and expiration windows.
Referral Tracking: A finite-state machine (FSM) was implemented to handle transitions between Active, Claimed, Expired, and Failed QR statuses, improving data consistency and accuracy.
Points Ledger: A live transaction history for all earned, redeemed, or adjusted points, allowing admins to manually modify or remove points while maintaining a complete transaction log for transparency, while in-app notifications were implemented to notify users of point status changes.
Compliance-first UX: Mandatory acknowledgment modals ensure ambassadors understand discount terms and compliance with APSCO’s policies.
APSCO Connect Admin Portal
A powerful dashboard that gives administrators visibility and control over all engagement activities.
Role-based Access Control: Super Admins can create and manage roles, branches, and partners, with permissions mapped via ACL middleware.
Discount Management Engine: Configure brand-based discounts, referral percentages, and QR validity durations, effectively acting as APSCO's in-house sales incentive software.
Analytics & KPIs: Real-time charts and dashboards visualize ambassador engagement with the discount feature and referral success.
Branch Management: The portal allowed adding Mobil branches with geolocation data, creating a relational mapping between services and eligible locations.
Error Tracking: Automated error logs with stateful error management where each QR verification had a “success,” “failed,” or “max OTP reached” state, all logged with timestamps for auditability.
Outcome
The launch of APSCO Ambassador and Connect marked a pivotal step in APSCO's digital transformation journey. The new system streamlined employee engagement, improved internal visibility, and gave APSCO a way to manage and measure the success of its incentive and discount programs like never before.
Employees gained a sense of ownership and recognition, while administrators got clear data insights and automated workflows that replaced manual tracking. The dual-platform approach connected the human side of motivation with the operational precision of technology, working together as a single employee engagement applications suite rather than two disconnected tools.
