Overview
Bscrum is a Slack-integrated standup bot built to get rid of the meeting fatigue that comes with running distributed teams. By turning the traditional daily standup into a streamlined, asynchronous workflow, Bscrum works as a teamwork platform for tracking progress, surfacing blockers, and keeping people aligned across every time zone.

Initial Requirements
In many organizations, managing daily standups is both time-consuming and prone to inefficiencies:
Manual reporting slows teams down.
Time zone differences make synchronous meetings difficult.
Fragmented reporting tools leave leaders without a clear picture of progress.
Blink22 built Bscrum to solve these challenges internally and later made it publicly available, helping distributed teams around the world run effective standups without friction.
Challenge
How can teams run daily standups effectively without being blocked by different time zones?
How do you ensure everyone reports consistently without adding overhead?
How can managers and leaders get a centralized, real-time overview of progress and blockers?
“Manual Reporting → Time Zone Chaos → Fragmented Communication.”
Approach
Blink22 teams shared frustration with fragmented standup processes in remote work, so we identified the pain point and worked on it.
Low-Friction Integration: Instead of forcing a new platform on anyone, we built a tool that lives directly in Slack, where teams already work as team collaboration tools go. Bscrum captures updates inside the chat flow people are already using.
Intelligent Automation: We built a set-and-forget reminder system that nudges team members based on their own local working hours. Daily reminders, structured reporting, and auto-generated summaries cut the friction down.
Data Aggregation: We went beyond the bot itself and built a Management Dashboard that turns Slack data into something actually useful to look at.
Scalability for Global Teams: Time zone intelligence keeps asynchronous updates feeling connected instead of scattered.
Solution
Bscrum connects everyday conversation with the kind of visibility usually reserved for heavier collaborative project management software, minus the overhead.
1. Automated Asynchronous Standups
Smart nudges: personalized reminders drive full participation without anyone chasing people down.
Structured input: updates are sorted into Done, Doing, and Blockers to keep things clear.
2. The Global Coordination Engine
Time zone intelligence: the bot respects local holidays and working hours.
Visual overlap charts: a dashboard view showing when team members' hours intersect, useful for pairing.
3. Real-Time Management Dashboard
Blocker heatmaps: instantly see which tasks are stalled and for how long.
Trend analysis: track team velocity and engagement over time to catch burnout early.
Outcome
Originally built as an internal tool for Blink22, Bscrum's success pushed it into a public-facing product, standing on its own as one of the more practical online collaboration tools for distributed teams.
Zero-meeting days: Teams saved an average of 2.5 hours per week per developer by cutting out synchronous standups.
Proactive problem solving: Managers spot blockers in real time instead of waiting for the next day's meeting.
Scalable growth: Bscrum moved from an internal utility to a commercial tool used by global remote teams.
