Overview
Half simplifies how companies keep their teams connected while traveling. Through a mobile app for employees and an admin dashboard for managers, Half provides instant eSIM-based data plans that remove roaming costs, automate billing, and give full visibility into company-wide usage.
By partnering with Blink22, Half turned their idea into a working platform. Travelers get seamless access to data plans abroad, while businesses finally get predictable costs and centralized management, the two things every corporate travel connectivity program is trying to solve.

Initial Requirements
Half was launched by a team of seasoned telecom entrepreneurs who wanted to solve the pain of business travel connectivity.
The product draws on the industry experience of founders such as Augustin de Wailly (formerly with Du, Accenture, and Orange), Benoît de Longeaux (previously at OnOff and Sigfox), and Christophe Corsi (ex-TCL, Samsung, and Nokia), who brought deep expertise in MVNO operations, mobile innovation, and distribution know-how to the project.
Blink22 partnered with Half to translate that telecom expertise into a robust, enterprise-ready mobile and web platform, combining best-in-class eSIM provisioning, company-wide billing, and a simple traveler UX so businesses can centrally manage and pay for employee connectivity.
Challenge
For decades, business travel connectivity has been plagued with inefficiencies:
Travelers often face expensive roaming charges, unreliable connections, and confusing reimbursements.
Companies lack centralized tools to monitor usage, manage billing, or prepare employees for international trips.
Manual processes lead to errors, delays, and poor user experiences, frustrating both admins and employees.
Half's challenge was to design a solution that balanced usability with enterprise-grade features. That meant a simple app for employees and a robust eSIM management dashboard for admins, all backed by reliable telecom integrations.
Approach
To bring Half’s vision to life, Blink22 followed a modular, API-first strategy that allowed us to build both the mobile app and admin dashboard in parallel.
Architecture: Adopted an API-first backend (NestJS) with modular services, making it easy to integrate eSIM provisioning, billing, and authentication.
Frontend & Dashboard: Built with Next.js, leveraging server-side rendering for performance and component-driven UI for consistency.
Mobile UX: Designed progressive onboarding flows in SwiftUI and Kotlin, with interactive wizards and short videos to guide users through eSIM setup step by step.
Enterprise features: Integrated Google/Microsoft SSO, Stripe billing, and background workers to handle provisioning, invoicing, and traveler management securely at scale.
Design principles: Focused on progressive disclosure, clear success/failure states, and a traveler-first mobile experience paired with a desktop-first admin dashboard.
This technical foundation meant Half's MVP was both user-friendly for travelers and enterprise-ready for companies from day one.
Solution
Blink22 developed a dual-platform solution tailored to two distinct user groups:
For Travelers (Mobile App):
Guided eSIM installation flows on both iOS and Android, enhanced with short videos and interactive wizards.
Country-based plan search with multiple duration options (3/7/15-day unlimited data).
Automatic confirmations, travel prompts, and reminders to ensure employees were always ready before departure.
For Admins (Dashboard):
Secure sign-in via Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
Streamlined billing setup with Stripe (supporting credit cards, IBAN, and VAT IDs).
Centralized traveler management with automated invitation workflows.
Full visibility over invoices, payment history, and support requests via integrated chat.
Outcome
Our partnership with Half resulted in a scalable, enterprise-ready platform that changes how companies manage connectivity for traveling employees.
Travelers: enjoy seamless, error-free eSIM installation and always-on global connectivity for employees abroad.
Companies: gain predictable telecom costs, consolidated billing, and a dashboard that simplifies management.
Market Impact: Half differentiates itself by combining telecom expertise, universal installation UX, and enterprise-ready billing into one platform.
Through Blink22’s expertise in SaaS and mobile development, Half launched an MVP that not only worked flawlessly but also positioned them to scale quickly with enterprise clients.
